Associate Professor Samantha Owen

Samantha is the Academic Lead of the Curtin University Gender Research Network, which is a hub for thought leadership in gender research, with a particular focus on generating evidence to inform gender-aware policies and practices. Samantha’s gender research focuses on inclusion, equity, systems and institutions, leadership, gender-based violence, care, racisms and contested histories. Her work focuses how we build inclusive, equitable, socially just, values-driven communities free.
 At Curtin she also leads mentoring and leadership programs and has considerable expertise in developing professional development on diversity, gender and equity, leadership, and intersectionality. Her approach is evidence-based and research informed and she works closely with industry and government partners to inform policy and practice.
